Dynamic Balanced Lacing

Since its introduction in 2015, Dynamic Balanced Lacing (DBL) has been one of the cornerstones of GIANT wheels. DBL ensures that spokes are at optimal tension under dynamic loads, resulting in improved durability and drive efficiency. The enlarged DBL hub flange also increases spoke angles, increasing torsional and lateral stiffness for better power transfer and a more stable sprint.

Using high-strength carbon fibers placed in key locations and tested with finite element analysis (FEA), GIANT engineers have met the challenge of building wheels that are as durable as they are lightweight. Compared to traditional rims with a hook design, a hookless rim makes it easier to increase the inside width without sacrificing weight without increasing the outside width. GIANT's new hookless rim design also allows a narrower, lighter tire to be used as it takes up a significantly larger volume on a hookless rim than on eienr classic hooked rim.
