Superior reliability

Ratchet System hubs are unique in that all the teeth of the two discs mesh simultaneously every time. In the case of ratchet hubs, the meshing area is quite small. In the case of the Ratchet System, however, the entire face surfaces engage with each other, resulting in a much smaller point load. The result is the legendary reliability of Ratchet System hubs.

Longer life

Bearing spacing is limited by the length of the freewheel system. With the previous system, the drive side bearing had to be placed next to the threaded ring, so the spacing could not be increased. By integrating the drive side bearing into the threaded ring, the bearing spacing is increased, resulting in improved axle rigidity.
